Our Story
How Actual Arborists got started.
Actual Arborists of Utah started with a simple frustration: too many homeowners across the valley were being sold tree removals they never needed. Mike had spent years on crews up and down the Wasatch Front and kept seeing the same thing — a truck would roll up, quote a takedown, and never once stop to diagnose what was actually wrong with the tree.
So he got ISA certified and went out on his own, owner-operated, with one rule that still runs the business today: an actual arborist who quotes the job is the one who does the work. No salespeople, no subcontracted crew you've never met working next to your house.
With 15-plus years working in the valley's trees behind him, that's still how every job runs — honest diagnosis first, careful work second, and a property left cleaner than we found it. This is home, and we treat the valley's trees that way.
